The PR That Mattered

Yesterday morning, I ran the NYRR5, a five mile race in Central Park that started at 8am.  I finished in 45:34, running 9:06 per mile on average.  Overall, it felt pretty good.

The real race, though, didn't start until I crossed the finish line.  It was 8:50.  I needed to be at work, in the partner's office by 9:50 at the latest for a 10am conference call.  I'm proud to say that I made it home, showered, suited up and taxied to work in under an hour.

Yes, I rolled into the partner's office with wet hair, Gatorade in hand.  The important thing is that I made it!
